Dmitry R. Mailyan |
Mailyan D.R. has been working in the higher school system since 1981. He was elected by competition to the position of head of the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Russian State Technical University (now DSTU) on November 4, 1996. Prior to that, he worked as a professor at the Rostov Architectural Institute. D.R. Mailyan has published more than 400 scientific papers, including 50 books and pamphlets, received 18 copyright certificates and patents for inventions. He is the co-author of a number of textbooks, in particular, such as "Industrial, civil and agricultural construction" (Moscow, "Higher School", 1991). "Design and calculation of reinforced concrete structures" (RGSU, 1992), etc. Monographs written with his participation and leadership have received recognition – "Effective reinforced concrete for agricultural construction" (Russian State University of Economics, 1990), "Properties of light concrete and their changes during preloading in various climatic conditions" (Tashkent, 1986), etc.
D.R. Mailyan has trained 38 candidates and 2 Doctors of Technical Sciences. The authors of 10 PhD theses are citizens from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Yemen, and Mexico. Currently, 5 graduate students are working under his supervision. The main scientific problem that D.R. Mailyan and his collaborators are dealing with is the development of new structural solutions for reinforced concrete elements with combined prestressing, methods of their calculation and manufacturing methods. In total, the department conducts research in five scientific areas. The research results were reported by D.R. Mailyan at many International and Russian scientific forums and published in central scientific journals and publications supervised by the Higher Attestation Commission. Simultaneously with the training of civil engineers and active scientific activity, Professor D.R. Mailyan provides engineering assistance to production.
The department is widely known for the work carried out under his leadership on the technical inspection, restoration and reconstruction of buildings and structures that were carried out in the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, Rostov and Moscow regions, Moscow and other regions of Russia. The Center for Forensic Examinations of DSTU is also successfully operating under the leadership of D.R. Mailyan. D.R. Mailyan's fruitful academic, scientific and industrial activities are highly appreciated at the university and beyond.
In 2006 and 2007, he was awarded the badges "Honorary Builder of the Russian Federation" and "Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation."
In 2008, Dmitry Rafaelovich was awarded the medal of the Order "For Service to Russia". Since 2012, he has been elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
In October 2017, for developing the scientific foundations of optimal construction design, advanced information modeling and effective lifecycle management of residential and public buildings in various regions of the country, D.R. Mailyan, as part of a team of Russian scientists and manufacturers, was awarded the 2017 Government of the Russian Federation Prize in science and technology and awarded the honorary title of laureate of the Government of the Russian Federation.
On December 19, 2017, D.R. Mailyan was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of DSTU.
In April 2022, he was approved by an expert of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission for Construction and Architecture.
